Today is Constitution Day! This commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787, recognizing all who are born in the U.S. or by naturalization, have become citizens. We're proud to recognize this day through learning opportunities around the district.

It is Celebrate Freedom Week! Each year, during the week that includes September 17, Texas schools highlight the values and ideals on which the United States was founded as well as the sacrifices that were made for freedom in the founding of the country. Students learn about the intent, meaning, and importance of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, including the Bill of Rights. Students also examine the relationship between the ideas in these documents and subsequent American history.

Join us on Monday, October 14 for a Beam Signing Event at future Sara Moss Elementary at 11:00 a.m. Help us celebrate with Mrs. Moss, family and friends as we prepare to open our 8th elementary campus in the Creekside Development just east of Ouida Baly Middle School. #RCISDJoy

Did you know? November is Hydrocephalus Awareness Month and we proudly support our students! Hydrocephalus is an abnormal buildup of fluid in the ventricles (cavities) deep within the brain. This excess fluid causes the ventricles to widen, putting pressure on the brain's tissues. Cerebrospinal fluid is the clear, colorless fluid that protects and cushions the brain and spine. World Hydrocephalus Day is coming September 20.
