Yesterday was truly a memorable day as we honored our former superintendent, Mr. Worthy, at the ground breaking ceremony for Worthy Fate High School. It was an exciting opportunity to look forward to the bright future ahead for our students in the district while also taking moment to reflect on the remarkable growth of our community. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the communities of Royse City and Fate for their unwavering support. We also want to express our gratitude to VLK Architects and North Star Builders for their contributions in shaping the facilities that support our students’ success. A special thanks to Bobby Summers Middle School band and choir for their stunning performances that added to the event’s success. Our future Wolverines made us proud. Thank you all for being part of this wonderful celebration of growth, unity, and opportunity! #RCISDJoy #WorthyFateWolverines #CommunityEngagement #PublicEducation #FutureWolverines

At Royse City High School, we believe in honoring those who serve our country. Today, our Culinary Arts students had the privilege of preparing and serving lunch to veterans from our district and the American Legion Post 100. It was an inspiring event, attended by Superintendent Dr. Anderson and our dedicated teachers who are veterans themselves. We thank them for their invaluable service and commitment to our community. #VeteransRecognition #CulinaryEducation #CommunityEngagement #RCISDJoy

This week, the fourth graders at Herndon Elementary School hosted their annual Veteran's Day Program, honoring our heroes at Herndon Elementary. As we approach the celebration of Veterans Day, we proudly honor those who have served our country and remember our school’s namesake, Harry Herndon, a true hero who exemplified courage and sacrifice. Harry was awarded numerous medals for his dedication and bravery, including the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge—earned for his presence under hostile fire in ground combat. He was also recognized for his exceptional skills with the Marksmanship Medal and Expert qualifications in Machine Gun, Automatic Rifle, and Rifle. Tragically, at just 21 years old, Harry gave his life in service on October 18, 1968, during operations in Vietnam. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart for his gallantry and the prestigious Bronze Star Medal, one of the highest honors for heroic achievement. Today, we remember Harry’s legacy and all veterans whose sacrifices secure our freedom. Join us as we celebrate their service and express our deepest gratitude. Thank you to all who have served. ❤️💙

Due to a very soggy weather forecast on Monday, we are rescheduling the Groundbreaking Ceremony for Worthy Fate High School to Tuesday, November 19. Same time, same place! Hope to see you there. Please also remember to use the driveway entrance from FM 552 and not from N. King Road. Look for WFHS Flags near that entrance.
