Students in Royse City High School’s Ag Power class have completed an impressive tractor restoration project, which will be showcased at the State Fair of Texas next week.
Jack Wheelington, Damian Garcia, and Miguel Nino, students in the Ag Power class, led the refurbishment of a 1952 Farmall Super M tractor. The project offered valuable hands-on experience in inspection, disassembly, component repair, reassembly, and finishing, while also emphasizing teamwork. Students from the Small Engines class contributed their skills to various aspects of the restoration, collaborating to transform the tractor from its original weathered state into a fully restored machine.
The restoration was made possible through the generous support of Donald Clinard, who purchased the necessary materials and provided the opportunity for students to work on the tractor. “We appreciate his support and the real-world learning opportunity he provided,” shared Holten Pemberton, CTE Instructor.
Miguel Nino will present the restored tractor at the State Fair of Texas Agriculture Mechanics Project Show and Tractor Restoration Contest on October 14, 2026. Although Jack Wheelington, a 2026 Royse City High School graduate, cannot attend, his leadership and dedication were vital to the project.
Royse City ISD celebrates these students' and their instructors' achievements, highlighting the value of hands-on, career-focused education. The district is proud to recognize the hard work, skill, and teamwork demonstrated by our Career and Technical Education (CTE) students and instructors.
