ROYSE CITY, TX - Royse City Bulldog Cross Country competed in the 10-6A District Meet at Lindsey Park in Tyler, TX early Wednesday morning where the girls would take the 'ship by only one point.
In a sport where the smallest margins can determine the outcome, Royse City came out on top to secure the district title. With a time of 1:43.06, and a tie with Rockwall, the tie breaker ultimately came down to the 6th individual runner for both teams. Lillian Smith would prove to be that difference, beating out Rockwall's 6th place finisher by just one second - 21:37.
As Head Coach Zach Snow put it, "It took everyone today." Senior Alie Laeding helped to lead the Bulldogs' championship effort, earning a 3rd place finish with a time of 19:50 to anchor the team's performance.
The Bulldogs will move on to the 6A Region || Championship in just under two weeks in Ft. Worth, TX. More information can be found here: https://www.uiltexas.org/files/athletics/2026_UIL_Region_II__Region_III_%281A%29.pdf
