#experienceRCISD

Our National Junior Honor Society students have been busy serving both our school and community in so many meaningful ways this quarter!
They’ve volunteered with nonprofits like the Royse City Animal Shelter, local churches, and Feed My Starving Children. They’ve helped teachers at various RCISD campuses before and after school, served on our campus recycling team, participated in the CKH Kindness Bingo challenge & much more!
We're so proud of the hard work and dedication of our NJHS students! 👏 Their service is making a real impact on our campus & community. #NJHSGivesBack #CommunityService

Mrs. Plowden holds one of the most important roles on our campus: providing a steady hand and a calm space for students when they need it most. She is a master of the "reset," helping students reflect, refocus, and return to their learning with a better mindset. Her patience and her ability to build relationships with every student who enters her room make her an invaluable part of our school’s heart and soul.
Please join us in celebrating her commitment to student growth and success!

As our Innovative Learning Specialist and ChromeCo lead, Mrs. Rice is the heartbeat of our campus's forward-looking classroom strategies. She doesn’t just manage our Chromebooks; she manages to make technology a bridge to deeper understanding. From coaching staff on new tools to sparking curiosity in her students, her title of "Innovative" is one she earns every single day.
Please join us in honoring her for her vision, leadership, and dedication.

This week, we've been celebrating the incredible Mrs. Donnell and Ms. Gregory. From offering a helping hand to providing a listening ear, they make our school a brighter, kinder place every single day.
Our leadership team said it best:
"Mrs. Donnell and Ms. Gregory lead with such empathy and care. Because of them, our students have someone who listens, believes in them, and never gives up on them. Bobby Summers is a stronger campus because of their hearts and work." — Mr. Mork
"You two are absolute rockstars! We love seeing how you go above and beyond to make sure every kid feels safe, supported, and happy here. Thanks for always having their backs and pouring so much heart into what you do!" — Mr. Armstrong
Thank you, Mrs. Donnell and Ms. Gregory, for all you do for our students and our staff. We are so lucky to have you! 🌟🍎 #experienceRCISD #NSCW26

From helping students navigate daily challenges to planning for the future and providing a safe space to land on tough days, these two do it all with heart, patience, and dedication. It. Is. Time.
RCISD will be open tomorrow (Friday, January 30th) and on a regular schedule. Our teams have spent the day reassessing conditions and preparing, and we are excited to announce that we are ready to return!
Thank you for your patience and support during the winter weather this week. It’s going to be a fantastic Friday together as we welcome everyone back!

Be sure to also check out our campus Facebook pages to stay directly connected with your student’s learning community.

While today’s sunshine was a welcome sight, road conditions across our area remain unsafe in several rural locations, as well as the majority of our campus parking lots and bus drop-off areas. After careful assessment of all impacted areas, Royse City ISD will be closed tomorrow (1/29/26).
Our decision is based on concerns for bus routes that include secondary roads (neighborhood streets, bridges, and shaded areas) where melting has been minimal, as well as the safety of our student and parent drivers who may encounter icy or hazardous conditions during the morning commute and drop-off. Bus lanes and parking lots remain areas that have yet to thaw. Tomorrow’s forecast should provide us with the opportunity to address these spaces, as well as additional time for some of our less-traveled roadways to clear of ice.
As with the previous snow days this week, UIL district after-school activities for Thursday will be communicated by the athletics department in coordination with other districts in the area. We are looking forward to cheering on our Bulldogs very soon!
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as conditions continue to improve. We will keep families informed, and look forward to having students back on campuses as soon as it is safe to do so.
