ROYSE CITY, TX — The Royse City High School football team honored a beloved teacher this week, presenting her with a custom helmet in memory of her late husband, Officer Dawson.
Head Coach Drew Colvin and the varsity football captains presented the helmet to Aubrey Dawson, a teacher at Sara Moss Elementary. The helmet features a decal with Officer Dawson's badge number. The team will wear this decal on their helmets throughout the season as a tribute.
Coach Colvin stated that Officer Dawson's life and service embodied the team's core values: Toughness, Effort, Commitment, Selfless, Grit, and Pride. "All of our core values are represented by the way he lived and through his profession," Colvin said. "We just want to honor him and his family."
