Welcome to RCISD! Dr. Amber Holomshek named Principal of Royse City High School!
Dr. Holomshek is a seasoned leader with more than twenty years of experience spanning the classroom, campus administration, curriculum and assessment consulting, and instructional design. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Historical Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas, a Master of Education from Texas A&M Commerce, and a Doctor of Education in Transformational Leadership from Concordia University. That last credential is not just a title , it reflects the lens through which she approaches every role she has held: leading in ways that create real, lasting change for students, staff, and communities.
Amber began her career as a Social Studies teacher, where she spent eleven years in the classroom developing a deep understanding of secondary students and what it takes to prepare them for life beyond high school. That classroom foundation led her to Region 10 ESC, where she served as an Educational Consultant in Assessment and Curriculum, advising districts on best practices and creating and delivering workshops that reached more than 70 school districts across North Texas. From there, she moved into an Instructional Design Facilitator role where she led professional development for secondary social studies teachers across the district.
In 2017, Amber stepped into campus administration as an Assistant Principal at Sachse High School, a large, comprehensive high school with more than 3,000 students and 200 staff members. She served there for nearly eight years, directing campus operations, leading discipline and scheduling systems, conducting staff evaluations, and developing programs focused on workforce readiness and student engagement. Most recently, she has served as Associate Principal at Rockwall Heath High School, further deepening her experience in student support systems, school culture, and campus-wide operations.
Dr. Holomshek is data-driven, relationship-centered, and relentlessly focused on student success. She understands the complexity of leading a large high school, and she brings the experience, the credentials, and the character to do it exceptionally well. We are proud to welcome her to Royse City ISD, and we are confident that she is exactly the right leader for Royse City High School at this moment.

Huge congratulations to our very own Assistant Principal, Dr. Preston Woo, for representing RCHS on the big stage at the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) summer workshop! In his session, "Data Driven, Teacher Led," Dr. Woo tackled a major question in education today: How do you move from isolated pockets of excellence to campus-wide instructional success? The answer lies entirely in the power of a Guiding Coalition.
Dr. Woo broke down exactly how to empower a strategic group of influential teacher leaders to serve as the true "engine" of your PLC, and we are incredibly proud to see him sharing his expertise and leadership with educators from all across Texas! #experienceRCISD #TeamRCHS @RoyseCityISD

Congratulations to the RCHS Skills USA team as they get ready for day 1 of nationals in Atlanta, GA! @RoyseCityISD @SkillsUSA #experienceRCISD #TeamRCHS

Early release on May 22nd, the last day of school! @RoyseCityISD

What an incredible day of empowerment and inspiration at Royse City High School!
On Saturday, May 16, the RC Women of Class proudly sponsored the "Dream It, Be It" workshop, presented by the amazing members of Soroptimist International of Rockwall. This special event brought together young ladies from RCHS for a day focused on career mentoring, setting big goals, and overcoming obstacles to success.
Through engaging activities and meaningful conversations, these future leaders were equipped with the tools, confidence, and support they need to turn their dreams into reality.
A huge thank you to Soroptimist International of Rockwall for investing their time and wisdom into our students, and to RC Women of Class for making this empowering Saturday possible! #experienceRCISD #RCWomenofClass @RoyseCityISD

The RCHS Guiding Coalition pulled out all the stops with a special treat for our amazing staff to celebrate all their hard work this year! This was our way of saying thank you and cheering for a year packed with incredible instructional growth. This fantastic team is led by House Principal, Dr. Preston Woo. #experienceRCISD #TeamRCHS @RoyseCityISD
