^Advanced to the Pre-Area Round

*Advances to the Final Round in January

The rigorous audition process for this elite ensemble began in September, drawing over 750 student participants. After two competitive rounds, only 276 students were selected to perform. The RCHS students shared this enriching experience alongside peers from local schools and worked under the direction of notable high school and collegiate directors.

Six RCHS students advanced to the Pre-Area round that took place in November. Out of the 128 participants at the Area level, only 40 advanced to the final round of auditions on January 10th. Four of these advancing students are from Royse City High School, hoping to secure their place in the TMEA All-State Choir: Elle Bond, Nathan Gordhamer, Aidon Harris, and Zadyn Smith.

The students began learning their challenging music packet in June. They have put in many hours of practice on top of maintaining passing grades while making contributions to multiple choir classes and clubs they lead. Please join us in celebrating these students as they make the final push to sing in a TMEA All-State Choir this January.

RCHS High School Directors, Nathan White and Tracy Hall, expressed immense pride in their students' dedication. "We are incredibly proud of their hard work and happy to see them grow as musicians," the directors stated.

Middle School Students Shine at RCISD Vocal Solo Festival

The musical success extended to the middle school level, where students demonstrated their individual talents at the inaugural RCISD Vocal Solo Festival held at Royse City High School on Thursday, November 6th.

Students prepared and memorized vocal solos for guest judges, who evaluated them based on accuracy, musicianship, and memorization. The event saw overwhelming success, with 90 students earning medals for a Division I rating, the highest performance distinction. Furthermore, 37 of those students received pins in recognition of their distinguished abilities.

Royse City ISD congratulates all the middle school participants who embraced the challenge of solo performance, along with their dedicated directors: Stephanie Montgomery (BMS), Caitlin White (SMS), and Garrett Dunaway (BMS/SMS).
