Royse City ISD Earns CTE District of Distinction for Second Consecutive Year
ROYSE CITY, Texas – Royse City Independent School District is proud to announce its selection as a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT) for the second consecutive year. This esteemed recognition celebrates districts across Texas that demonstrate exemplary leadership, innovation, and commitment to student success through high-quality Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
The CTE District of Distinction program, launched by CTAT, highlights districts that excel in workforce readiness, foster innovation in CTE, and inspire others through their dedication to student achievement and community impact. Honored districts serve as models of excellence, showcasing best practices and driving progress in CTE statewide.
RCISD offers robust CTE programming with 120 courses available across 26 diverse programs of study. The sheer scope and success of the program are highlighted by impressive student outcomes:
2000+ Industry-Based Certifications (IBCs): RCISD students have earned over 2,000 IBCs since 2022, providing them with immediate, marketable skills and credentials for high-demand, high-wage careers.
High School Enrollment: A staggering 2,258 Royse City High School students, more than 80% of the student body, are currently enrolled in CTE courses.
Middle School Engagement: Early career exploration is encouraged, with more than 600 middle school students enrolled in CTE courses.
Elementary Awareness: The focus on career awareness begins early, with all 4th graders attending Ag Days in the agriculture barn to learn about careers in food production, natural resources, ag tech and mechanical systems, and animal science.
