ROYSE CITY, TX – The Royse City ISD Education Foundation has wrapped up its annual Grant Patrol, surprising educators across the district with funding for innovative classroom projects. This year marked a record-breaking achievement, with the Foundation awarding 58 total grants for $128,360.88, representing the highest number of grant applications and the largest dollar amount in the Foundation's history.
The Foundation’s mission is to empower educators to strengthen and transform learning for all students, with the grants designed to reward creative and innovative instructional approaches that encourage student creativity and critical thinking.
“Grant Patrol is truly the best day of the year, where we get to see the immense joy on the faces of our dedicated educators,” said Education Foundation Executive Director Kim Crumrine. “This record-breaking total is a testament to the incredible generosity of our donors and community, and the inspiring vision of our teachers, who are committed to bringing innovative, transformative learning experiences to every student in Royse City ISD.”
Spotlight on Innovative Grant Awards
The grants fund projects across all grade levels and academic areas, from early childhood education to high school Career and Technology programs. A few notable grants from this year's patrol include: "A Stage for Young Masters: Showcasing the Next Generation of Artists" at RCHS for $5,000.00 in Fine Arts, and "Together in Calm: An Inclusive Sensory Sanctuary for Young Learners" for $4,809.55 at Glenda Arnold ECLC, focusing on Early Childhood (Pre-K) and Special Education.
Elementary STEAM education was boosted by the "From Dash to Sphero: Building STEM Skills Through Robotics" grant for $2,159.88 at Ruth Cherry. Additionally, the "Words in Motion: Giving Every Child a Voice on the Playground" project was awarded $2,100.00 each to Moss and Paula Walker for Special Education. Finally, Scott received $1,500.00 for the focused "Unlocking the Ultimate Potential: Autism Education Grant for Specialized Supports".
Grant Program Details
The RCISD Classroom Grants provide financial assistance for instructional approaches or projects designed to benefit students and meet selection criteria for innovation. Eligible applicants include individuals or teams employed by Royse City ISD who are involved in the direct daily instruction or related support services benefiting students.
The Foundation offers grants in several categories:
- Campus/Department /CTE Program of Study Grants: Up to $5,000 
- Individual/Classroom Grants: Up to $1,500 
- Mini Grants: $250 
- First-Year Teachers: $200
