Royse City, TX - May 12, 2025 - Royse City Independent School District proudly celebrated the achievements of its Adult English as a Second Language (ESL) Program participants at a special celebration held in May. This vital program, funded by Title III, provides English language instruction to parents of RCISD students, fostering their integration and engagement within the school community.
Throughout the academic year, from September through May, 80 adult learners participated in weekly lessons held every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 to 10:00 am at the Mike McKinney Building. The program caters to individuals of all English proficiency levels, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
A significant outcome of the Adult ESL program has been the successful recruitment of parents to serve in Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC), further strengthening the partnership between home and school. Additionally, for the past two years, the program has proudly represented RCISD at the Parent, Family & Community Fair at Region 10, showcasing the dedication and progress of its learners. This year, 25 students successfully completed the program, marking a significant milestone in their English language journey.
RCISD extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated ESL Team, including Tyisha Nelson, Lacy Packard, Valerie Huey, Ana Ramirez and Marilu Rios, for their unwavering commitment to the program and the success of the celebration.
This initiative underscores RCISD's commitment to fostering inclusivity and growth within its community.
