ABOUT RCHS PTECH

Royse City College & Career Academy Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) program gives students the opportunity to earn college credit, receive industry certifications, and participate in work-based training at no cost to students. Through partnerships with Paris Junior College, Texas A&M-Commerce, and local businesses, P-TECH students gain hands-on experience, learn technical skills, and can earn postsecondary credentials while earning their high school diploma.

Early College High Schools will:

  • Create a means to higher education for first-generation college-going students 

  • Provide dual credit at not cost to students

  • Increase college attendance and success rates for all students

  • Offer rigorous instruction and accelerated courses

  • Provide academic and social support services to help students succeed

  • Increase college readiness, and

  • Reduce barriers to college access

WHAT IS PTECH?

The Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) model is designed to ensure the high school curriculum focuses on workforce needs and partnerships that support students in obtaining credentials, degrees and certificates. With the support of Educate Texas and the Texas Education Agency (TEA), participating schools target thriving industries in their region, to address key workforce pathways in high-demand fields. The P-TECH Model course of study gives students an opportunity to: 

  • Earn an associate degree while earning their high school diploma 

  • Earn a two-year postsecondary certificate or industry certification 

  • Complete work-based training

  • Gain work experience through internships, apprenticeships, or other job training programs

Associate of Science in Allied Health

Associate of Arts in Teaching

Associate of Science in Accounting/Business Administration

Associate of Science in Criminal Justice
