Royse City ISD is thrilled to welcome Justin Mork as the new Principal of Ouida Bailey Middle School. Mr. Mork is no stranger to our community; he has served as Associate Principal at Bobby Summers Middle School since July 2025, where he has been a visible, trusted leader committed to students, teachers, and campus culture from day one.

Mr. Mork holds an M.Ed. in Administration from Lamar University and a B.S. in Sociology/Criminology from the University of Oklahoma. With nearly two decades of experience at the middle school level, including eight years as assistant principal, Mr. Mork brings deep expertise in campus leadership, instructional support, and building cultures where students and teachers thrive. His entire career has been dedicated to this stage of learning, and it shows.

Mr. Mork is known for his genuine love of students, his restorative approach to discipline, and his hands-on investment in teacher growth and wellbeing. Families can expect a principal who will know their child by name, and teachers can expect a leader who will show up for them every single day.

Justin is a firm believer in data-informed decision-making, collaborative problem-solving, and robust instructional frameworks to ensure every student achieves academic success and personal growth. Known for his visible, hands-on leadership style, he places a premium on supporting teachers' professional goals and well-being, ensuring they have the structure and care needed to thrive.

Furthermore, his expertise in restorative practices and de-escalation ensures a safe, accountable, and consistent learning environment where discipline serves as a tool to teach self-behavior mastery while keeping vital relationships intact.

Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Justin Mork into his new role as Principal of Ouida Baley Middle School!

Celebrating Our Teacher of the Year: Mrs. Brunson! 🏆🌟

We are thrilled to announce Mrs. Brunson as our Teacher of the Year! 💛🖤 At Baley, a great teacher is defined not just by what they teach, but by how they lead and care for others. Mrs. Brunson embodies this every single day. 🐶💪
Her colleagues describe her as a "phenomenal" leader and a "true asset" to our school. 🐾 As a department head, she has guided the Social Studies department through immense growth, but her impact goes far beyond the curriculum. 📈 She is a dedicated mentor who has been a lifeline for our new teachers—guiding them through everything from the first day of grading to navigating parent communication with grace. ✨🖤
Whether she is being "intentional in the classroom" with her students or "stepping in to help without hesitation" for a teammate, Mrs. Brunson makes everyone at Baley feel like they truly belong. 🤝💛🖤
Congratulations, Mrs. Brunson, on this well-deserved honor! Let’s go, Bulldogs! 🎉🍎🐾

Celebrating Our Support Staff of the Year: Mrs. Abby Rathjen! 🏆🌟

We are beyond excited to announce Abby Rathjen as our Support Staff of the Year! 💛🖤 Even though this is her first year at Baley, Abby has already become the heartbeat of our office.🖤
Her colleagues describe her as a "superstar" who has mastered the art of "wearing many hats." 🎩✨ Whether she was serving as the welcoming face of the front office or transitioning into her new role as AP Secretary in Student Services, Abby has been a "rockstar" every step of the way. She didn't just step into these roles—she transformed them, creating organized, smooth-running systems that keep our school moving. 📈🖤
What stands out most is her "cheery attitude" and "amazing positive attitude." ☀️ No matter how busy the day gets, Abby greets every staff member, student, and parent with a smile and professional grace. From handling parent communication to ensuring our students are safe and cared for, she is a "true asset" and a "definition of a team player." 🤝💛
Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, Abby! We appreciate everything you do to keep our school running smoothly! 🐶🖤
