In the May 6, 2023 election, Place 1 and Place 2 were up for community vote. Place 1 incumbent Bobby Summers was unopposed. Mr. Summers was first elected to the board in 1996. This marks his 10th consecutive successful election and will accumulate 30 years total by the end of this 3-year term. Place 2 candidate Amanda Self successfully received more votes than her opponent. Mrs. Self has 20 years of public relations and marketing experience. A TexaS A&M University College Station graduate, she is involved in the Royse City Chamber of Commerce, Royse City Senior Citizens group and Royse City FFA. Mrs. Self and her husband Jack have triplets that attend Royse City ISD.
