We are thrilled to announce that students from Royse City Independent School District's elementary schools have been recognized for their outstanding leadership at both the state and national levels.
The Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) has announced the recipients of the 2026 TEPSA Student Leadership Award, and we are proud to share that three of our schools have been honored. Since its inception in 2018, the TEPSA Student Leadership Award has celebrated exceptional student teams who demonstrate not only remarkable leadership but also dedication to their schools and a commitment to driving positive change within their communities. Our students lead by example, inspire their peers, and leave a lasting impact wherever they go.

Additionally, we are excited to announce that the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) has recognized Davis Elementary as a 2026 ASCA Student Council School of Excellence. The American Student Council Association (ASCA) honors exemplary elementary and middle-level schools and their student councils for their outstanding commitment to the four pillars of ASCA: community service, student leadership, citizenship, and school spirit.
Davis Elementary Student Council has demonstrated exceptional adherence to these pillars through impactful projects throughout the school year, including the Holiday Cheer initiative, which collected holiday items for a local senior medical lodge, and a successful Turkey Trot event.
"Our Student Council, under the guidance of Mrs. Carter, demonstrated leadership in community service, student leadership, and citizenship throughout the past school year here at Davis," said Rachel Camp, Principal. "Whether they were planning service projects or making treats for our staff, they consistently displayed a servant attitude. We are so proud of them for being the first student council in RCISD to receive this honor!"
