Sarah Jackson- Elementary Teacher of the Year
Sarah Jackson is a Pre-K teacher with 11 years of teaching experience and 4 years in Royse City ISD. Her principal shared that watching her work is to encounter a teacher that has that “gift” of teaching - the ability to truly light up the classroom with inspiration - this is rare. Sarah possesses a positive and collaborative personality. Her passion within her teaching spreads across the faculty, meaning she attracts teachers to want to partner with her in her ideas.
Mattie McKinney- Secondary Teacher of the Year
Mrs. McKinney is a Royse City High School graduate and has 4 years of teaching experience, all with Royse City ISD! Her principal said that Mattie's classroom is a hub of active engagement. She embraces the natural curiosity of her students, skillfully guiding them through challenging concepts and fostering a love of learning. She is consistently present and supportive, helping her students persevere and develop their problem-solving skills.
