The Royse City ISD School Board unanimously passed a resolution on Monday, April 9 to nominate Superintendent Kevin Worthy as Superintendent of the Year for Region X.

Board President Julie Stutts commented, “He is our Superintendent of the Year and we are proud of where he has taken our schools and our community.”

Worthy will be entered into a regional level competition for a possibility to be named Superintendent of the Year for Texas. He has served as Royse City Independent School District Superintendent since 2012. His career began in Gunter ISD and spanned from world geography teacher and baseball coach to principal and superintendent.

Superintendent Worthy is a leader in K-12 education and serves on countless boards and committees to benefit Texas public schools and students. His legislative activism and tenacity have positioned him as a voice for children in Royse City ISD and across the state. Personally, Kevin and his wife Shannon have two children in Royse City ISD. Carson attends Royse City Middle School and Cameron is a senior who plans to attend Texas A&M University College Station.
