Update for 2021-2022 School Year

  • FREE BREAKFAST & LUNCH FOR ALL
This school year, nutritious breakfasts and lunches will be offered for free to all students. Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year.  Each district school has a copy of the USDA’s policy, which may be reviewed upon request.

While no application or eligibility determination process is required for students to receive free meals this school year, income eligibility requirements will likely resume in 2022-23. Students will continue to be able to purchase extra snacks as allowed by guardians as part of the Back to School Forms. View menus by downloading the Royse City ISD Mobile App and visit https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/getmain.action?clientKey=&requestAction=home to sign up for easy payments for optional snacks and items in 2021-2022.

    VISITORS ALLOWED AT ELEMENTARY LUNCH
Starting on Friday, September 10, elementary lunch visitors will be allowed to join their students for lunch. They may bring lunch or order a nutritious meal in our cafes. Visitors will only be allowed on Fridays at each elementary school beyond September 10.

    MIDDLE SCHOOL LUNCH
Grades 6-8 must stay on campus for lunch. Students may bring lunch or order a nutritious meal in our Cafeteria. No outside food deliveries will be accepted (i.e. Doordash, UberEats, pizza, etc.). Should a student forget their lunch, parents may make drop offs and stay for lunch if desired.

    ROYSE CITY HIGH SCHOOL LUNCH
Grades 9-11 must stay on campus for lunch. Students may bring lunch or order food in the cafe or a food kiosk. No outside food deliveries will be accepted at RCHS (i.e. Doordash, UberEats, pizza, etc.). Seniors have the privilege of leaving campus for lunch. This is reserved for students who have guardian permission and meet specific qualifications as communicated by RCHS Administration.

ADULT MEAL PRICE INCREASE (REQUIRED BY USDA)
The charge for adult meals must at a minimum, be greater than the amount of total reimbursement received from USDA for a free meal plus any other supplemental payments received by the school district, plus per meal value of USDA Foods (Commodities) used for the meal service. During the 2021-2022 school year, all enrolled students in Texas public schools can receive free breakfast and free lunch meals due to a one-year federal program. USDA will increase the amount of reimbursement dollars for all student breakfast and lunch meals to help with cost of goods, preparation and serving of meals. The increase in reimbursement means our district is required to increase the cost of adult meals due to USDA requirements.

    Adult Breakfast - $3.25
    Adult Lunch- $4.75
