Mrs. Ouida Baley was a 1968 graduate of RCHS and worked for RCISD for 33 years as a teacher’s aide and bus driver. She was a beloved member of the community who left a significant impact on the students she worked with and the colleagues she worked alongside. Mrs. Baley was nominated by the Royse City ISD Community as a potential namesake by dozens of community members as part of a formal School Namesake Commitee & Search.
“Miss Ouida” passed away Feb. 17, 2014. She was born Dec. 23, 1949, in Dallas to Clifford and Mary Hazel (Craig) Howell. She had a great love for children and started “Wonderful Wednesdays With Ouida.” She served on many programs and committees such as Meals on Wheels, where she served for 35 years and participated in the JAM program, (Jesus and Me) at First United Methodist Church of Royse City, where she was a member.
