At a regularly scheduled board meeting on April 9, 2018, the Royse City ISD School Board approved the hiring of the new William R. Fort Elementary Principal Wendy Prater. She joins Royse City ISD from Plano ISD where she currently serves as a middle school assistant principal. Mrs. Prater has more than twenty years in education in elementary, secondary, dyslexia and curriculum roles. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Mrs. Prater will transition to Fort Elementary over the summer and replaces Mrs. Danette Dodson who is retiring at the end of the school year.
“We are so pleased to welcome Mrs. Prater to the Royse City ISD Family. Her passion for people and knowledge of instruction is exciting for Fort Elementary. She’s a proven leader who will be such a great addition to our team,” said Superintendent Kevin Worthy. “We also want to thank Mrs. Dodson for her heart and dedication to children. We will miss her greatly, while also looking forward to continued success at Fort Elementary.”
