GT Student Showcase

After completing a unit of study on Ancient China and how inventions from that time period affect us today, representatives from the 5th Grade GT class traveled to the Sheraton Hotel in Dallas to present their Ancient Chinese Museum at the TAGT Conference.  Amber Williams, Julianne Nielsen, Mia Molina, Devon Canal, and Cailean Stevenson set up the museum display and fielded questions about their museum.  Among the artifacts displayed were posters on the different dynasties, terra cotta warriors, Chinese Opera Masks, Traders Journals for the silk road, and Chinese paper cutting. Many interested visitors came by. The students then gave a presentation to the Royse City School Board.

2nd Grade PTO Program

The 2nd grade class is shown performing from the story “Twas the night before Thanksgiving” by Dav Pilkey.  They sang the following songs, “Over the river and through the woods”,  “I like the colors of the Fall”, and “Song of Thanksgiving”.

ELECTION DAY AT MISS MAY VERNON ELEMENTARY

Uncle Sam was at Miss May Vernon to encourage the students to vote. Each student got to cast their vote for who they would like to be president of the United States.

FIRST GRADE PUMPKIN ACTIVITY

The first graders are shown doing different activitys with pumpkins. They did measuring, estimization, graphs, etc.  Mr. Hancock is also shown watching the students as they work.

FATE FIRE DEPARTMENT VISITS MAY VERNON ELEMENTARY

The Fate Fire Department came to Miss May Vernon Elementary to talk to the kids about being safe.  The kindergarteners  are shown posing in front of the fire truck.
