2006 - September 20th

Royse City ISD Board of Trustees met in a regular session on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Royse City Administration Building. A quorum being present, the following business was conducted:

Public Hearing

Mr. Jimmy Butler presented the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas and reviewed the district’s rating. Royse City ISD received a rating of Superior Achievement.

Open Forum

Mrs. Deborah Johnson spoke regarding the standard dress code policy, including the length of hair for male students. Mrs. Johnson didn’t believe the length of hair should be an issue in which tThe he school board should be concerned. She addressed the fact that boys had fewer options with what to wear while the girls had more choices.

Action Items

The board approved the consent agenda which included minutes of prior meetings and financial reports.
The board voted to begin each Royse City ISD Board meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and an invocation.
An Inter-local Agreement was approved between Royse City ISD and Rockwall County Central Appraisal District for tax collection services for 2006-07.
The board reset the November board meeting date to November 14, 2006 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
The board adopted, revised local policies as recommended by TASB Update 78.
The purchase of a handicapped school bus was approved as recommended.
Action from Executive Session
The board voted to hire certified personnel and accepted a resignation as recommended by the administration.
