Grand Opening RCISD Stadium and Auditorium

A crowd of over 3200 turned out for the first kick-off and the Bulldogs christened the new stadium with a 35 to 7 victory over the Atlanta Rabbits!

It was a busy weekend for Royse City ISD, beginning with the Friday night Grand Opening of the Royse City ISD Stadium.  A crowd of over 3200 turned out for the first kick-off and the Bulldogs christened the new stadium with a 35 to 7 victory over the Atlanta Rabbits!
Congressman Ralph Hall presented Superintendent Randy Hancock with an American flag to fly over the stadium and Texas Country Recording Artist, Deryl Dodd crooned the National Anthem to open the celebration.
Royse City, Fate, and Rockwall County dignitaries enjoyed a tour of the tri-level press box then settled into the hospitality suite to watch the game.  The hospitality suite, appropriately named “The Dog House”, is already booked for this 2007 football season.  The Dog House can be used for reunion or group gatherings at home games by sending your written request to the superintendent of schools.
Saturday night a smaller crowd enjoyed a mini-concert performed by the Royse City High School band and choir.  The new auditorium has a seating capacity of 750 and the band and choir were concert perfect with the precisely designed acoustics, a step up from the cafeteria stages of old!
The Royse City ISD Administration would like to thank everyone who made this grand weekend possible.  Maintenance Supervisor, Nicky Morris and his staff, our custodial staff, Gallagher Construction crews all who were literally working until 6 PM game night, and Claycomb & Associates, our architects who graciously made our New House – Same Proud Traditions signs.  Steve Vaughn and his students for all their preparation and work on the new state of the art scoreboard! Band Director Dean Bouras, Golden Debs Director Michelle Culp, Choir Director Lee Hervey, and Theatre Director Scott Tipton, thanks to all for providing the set up and special entertainment for the evenings.  It was a wonderful beginning for our 2008-09 school year, we look forward to many more celebrations in our new facilities!
