2006 - December 19th

Royse City ISD Board of Trustees met in a regular session on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at the Royse City High School Theatre. A quorum being present, the following business was conducted:

Open Forum

Action Items

  • The board approved the consent agenda which included minutes of prior meetings, monthly financial reports, budget amendments for 2006-07, and resolutions honoring student accomplishments.
  • The board accepted the monetary donation from Sabine Creek Ranch for use in the Special Education Department.
  • The request for a CIS mapping system for Rockwall Central Appraisal was approved. The purchase will be funded from surplus funds.
  • A resolution was adopted to enter into an agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative..
  • Action from Executive Session
  • The board accepted the hiring/termination of certified personnel as recommended by the administration.
  • There being no further business the meeting adjourned.

Superintendent Reports:

  • Davis Elementary School—Georgie Grossman, Principal

Mrs. Grossman, along with Ms. Jimenez and Ms. Livingston, presented an overview of the campuses new Bilingual Program “Opening Doors for the Future.” Davis Third Graders will also participate in a pilot program “Breakfast in the Classroom”, in cooperation with the RCISD Food Service Department. The program will begin January 8, 2007 and extend through February 23, 2007.

  • School Enrollment is 3809 as of December 15, 2006.

Construction Update - Will be held concurrent with the Facility Workshop at the end of this meeting. Check school web site for updated construction information.

  • Board Book Update—This is the last month for paper board packets, unless requested by individuals. The administration staff will be glad to assist anyone having difficulty in accessing the TASB to download the board packets.
